Llangwm Village Voices

“Llangwm Village Voices” in its present form was resurrected in 2012 from an informal singalong group which unfortunately folded as the choir leader had other commitments. Sam Howley then took the helm and introduced an eclectic mix of music sung in four parts - Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass.

We have performed a Mozart Mass, Vivaldi, Faure and we are currently rehearsing Pergolesi's Magnificat. However we have also got our teeth into Abba, Queen, Beatles, Bernstein, Sondheim and many others. There have been  some remarkable concerts in the village, in Haverfordwest and around the county, from Newport to Carew.

Sam also composes various works, most notably the adventurous and huge undertaking of “WW1- A Village Opera” which we performed at various venues during 2014 and which will be reprised as a choral piece complete with orchestra in 2018 to celebrate the centenary of the end of WW1.

Everyone is welcome to join in practice every Thursday at 7.30 in the Village Hall and an ability to read music is unnecessary as MP3 recordings of the various parts are sent out by email and there are NO auditions to suffer. Subs are £15 per two months.
